Along with French gastronomy, Spanish flamenco or Portuguese fado singing, Mexican “mariachi string music, song and trumpet” has officially made it into UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity list. It is an honor that Mexican cultural authorities recently celebrated in Guadalajara, capital city of Jalisco state, birthplace of tequila and of course, Mariachis.
